For those looking for a spot to have lunch, dinner or weekend brunch in London I recommend the Gate in Hammersmith. We went there for dinner during our long weekend and I loved the place. The airy room is done up in modern bistro style with stripped bare wood, delicate colors and a warm ambiance. It’s a perfect place if you want to have a relaxed dinner and enjoy a great meal with family and friends.
The food is vegetarian, often vegan, and much of the food has an Asian/Middle Eastern flavour. The menu was terrific and both mom and I had the Middle Eastern platter. The baba ganoush, beetroot hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, stuffed vine leaves, and my favourites the pickled vegetables, was served with home made
The fiancé chose tortilla with two fillings of sweet potato, sweetcorn, goat cheese, chilli, lime and coriander, and baked beetroot, feta and parsley, served with guacamole, sour cream and black bean pepper salsa. I’m getting that the next time!
We were stuffed but couldn’t resist the dessert menu calling. Shared the rosewater panna cotta and the lemon grass, lime leaf and coconut cheese cake. Pure joy! The place is truly gorgeous. Sophisticated yet simple.
