One of my favorite coffee bars in Brussels is Jat’ Café. It’s located on Rue de Namur, where the hairdresser Toni&Guy used to be.
Jat’ Café is a rather large place, with a very cozy seating area and the interior is tastefully decorated with a vintage feel. The counters display different kinds of sandwiches, salads, cakes and soft drinks, and there’s a nice variety of bagels and soups. I can also recommend the freshly pressed juices and smoothies! Muffins, cupcakes and other sweets are also on display if you happen to be in the mood for that.
The concept (vintage, magazines, lots of cakes and coffee) has been seen before, let’s say at Café de la Presse, but it seems to work for Jat’. During lunch I’ve often seen a queue stretched out onto the street and having brunch there during the weekend can be a bit messy.
One thing that I really like about the place though, is the very friendly, service minded, staff! And the music is usually excellent!
